Hess's Law allows the calculation of the enthalpy of one reaction based upon the data from two other reactions. -- In this kit, students determine the heat of reaction for three acid-base reactions using four solutions and a calorimeter (not included). They monitor the temperatures of the reactions and analyze the data, calculating the enthalpy of each reaction and writing the net ionic equations. A fume hood is recommended for this experiment. -- Includes: Ammonia 2M solution, Ammonium chloride 2M solution, Hydrochloric Acid 2M solution, Sodium hydroxide 2M solution, and instructions. |
